EMBL-EBI Publishes Impact Report
June 4, 2026
The new report by Frontier Economics shows that EMBL-EBI data resources save users an average of 11 hours/week/person, leading to £11.8bn/year in research productivity gains. The EMDB team at EMBL-EBI are humbled and privileged to be part of that.
The report has drawn on user survey responses gathered earlier in the year, with thanks to everyone's previous responses.
The report further has specific case studies around technologies like AlphaFold, cryoSPARC and modelAngelo, which would be very challenging or otherwise impossible to develop without the data that we make open and publicly available.
