ChEBI Name cyclaniliprole
ChEBI ID CHEBI:149441
Definition A racemate comprising equimolar amounts of (R)- and (S)-cyclaniliprole. A broad-spectrum insecticide that provides excellent control of a wide variety of insects pests across crops including whiteflies, flea beetles, armyworms, caterpillars, moths, thrips, fruit worms, and squash bugs. It targets ryanodine receptors of calcium channels in insect cells leading to rapid cessation of feeding and long-lasting control. It is also capable of controlling insect pests that are organophosphate, pyrethroid, and carbamate resistant.

Roles Classification
Biological Role(s): ryanodine receptor agonist
A ryanodine receptor modulator which activates the receptor. Ryanodine receptors (RyRs) act as selective ion channels, modulating the release of calcium. Activating the receptors causes the release of calcium, so depleting internal calcium and ultimately preventing further muscle contraction.
Application(s): agrochemical
An agrochemical is a substance that is used in agriculture or horticulture.
insecticide
Strictly, a substance intended to kill members of the class Insecta. In common usage, any substance used for preventing, destroying, repelling or controlling insects.
