Shortlists
Collect candidates as you work, then turn them into a report
The shortlist is where you gather the iBGCs worth keeping. It accumulates across everything you do — filtering, searching, comparing — and is the bridge to the report and its downloads. It is the platform’s main output: the set of candidates you carry into the lab.
Adding iBGCs
- Right-click → Add to shortlist on any iBGC, in the roster, on a map, or in a detail panel.
- Add all to shortlist in the roster footer adds every iBGC matching the current query at once.
The shortlist holds up to 1,000 iBGCs. If a bulk add would exceed the cap, the platform adds what it can and tells you how many were skipped; if the query matched more than were considered, it notes that too, so you know the selection was truncated.
Where it lives
The shortlist is stored in your browser, so it persists between sessions on the same machine and stays available no matter which result tab or search you use. It is not sent to the server until you explicitly generate a report or export.
You can review the shortlist, remove individual entries, or clear it from the shortlist control in the discovery platform header.
Turning a shortlist into a report
When you are ready, click Generate Report. The platform sends your selected iBGC ids to the server, materialises a full summary, and opens the report page. The report has a stable link (a token in the URL) you can bookmark or share; it stays available for a period after generation, after which you can generate it again from the same shortlist.
A typical session
- Filter and search to surface candidates.
- Add the good ones to the shortlist as you inspect them.
- Refine — add more from a different query, remove ones that don’t hold up.
- Generate Report and download GenBank files and tables for your top set.
