BGC Roster

The sortable table of matching iBGCs

The BGC roster is the default view of your results: one row per integrated BGC (iBGC) matching the current query. It is the fastest way to rank candidates and to read their key attributes side by side.

The roster is empty until you press Run Query (or have an active filter, search, or loaded asset).

The BGC roster, sorted by novelty. Each row is one iBGC; badges flag validated and partial clusters (type-strain and submitted clusters are flagged the same way).

Columns

Column Meaning
iBGC The iBGC accession/label. Badges flag Validated, Type Strain, Submitted (your uploaded asset), and Partial (runs off the contig edge).
Sim. Similarity to your query — only meaningful after a search. Its label changes with the search type (see below).
Class The normalised BGC class (Polyketide, NRPS, RiPP, …).
Size (kb) Length of the cluster in kilobases.
Novelty Distance from the nearest validated cluster (0–1; higher = more novel).
Dom. nov. Domain novelty — fraction of domains unique within the iBGC’s GCF.
Sources The detection tools that called this cluster (antiSMASH, GECCO, SanntiS, …).
Assembly The parent assembly accession.
Collection The source collection the assembly came from.

Scores shown as “—” could not be computed for that iBGC (see Scores & Metrics).

Sorting

Click a sortable column header to sort; click again to reverse. Sortable columns are Size, Novelty, Dom. nov., and Sim. The default sort is Novelty, descending — so the most novel candidates appear first.

After a sequence search or a Find similar iBGCs run, the roster automatically sorts by the query similarity so the table mirrors the search ranking. You can override this at any time by clicking another header.

Selecting and acting on rows

  • Left-click a row to load that iBGC into the Compare panel.
  • Right-click a row for the actions menu: Set as reference iBGC, Find similar iBGCs, and Add to shortlist.

Submitted (uploaded-asset) iBGCs are shaded amber so they stand out against catalogue rows.

Paging and bulk shortlisting

The footer shows the total match count and pages through results 50 at a time. Add all to shortlist adds every iBGC matching the current query — not just the visible page — up to the shortlist cap. If the query matched more than the considered limit, a note tells you how many were matched versus added, so you know the selection was truncated.
