EditEnsembl is a world-renowned genome browser that has served the genomic interpretation requirements of the scientific community for more than twenty years in comparative genomics, evolution, sequence variation and transcriptional regulation for a wide range of species. Recent global scientific advances and initiatives, from pangenomes to eukaryotic biodiversity, have propelled Ensembl into a period of rapid expansion to scale to meet the explosion in the number of genomes sequenced. My teams develop the core infrastructure, applications and regulatory components of the service. The team also develops the FAANG Data Coordination Centre Platform service, a data brokering and portal platform that supports farmed animal genotype to phenotype research and industrial applications. Finally, in the field of biodiversity genomics the team develops a suite of biodiversity data portal services that present the wealth of public biodiversity data, such as for Darwin Tree of Life project that aims to sequence all eukaryotic species of the UK and Ireland.

We would welcome new collaborations in all areas, and are particularly interested in animal agriculture FAIR data coordination, pangenomics, cell atlases, innovative data presentation, and data management and presentation of biodiversity initiatives.
Aquatic Symbiosis Genomics Data portal for genomes of 1,000 freshwater and marine species that represent more than 500 symbiotic relationships to provide vitally needed genetic information for conservationists and biologists to understand how species evolve and live together.
Single access point to the wealth of biodiversity data generated by the Darwin Tree of Life project that will sequence all 70000 eukaryotic species of UK and Ireland.
The European Reference Genome Atlas (ERGA) Data Portal is part of a pan-European scientific response to current threats to biodiversity. It will showcase and provide access to the wealth of data generated for teh 200,000 eukaryotic reference genomes, a powerful resource in understanding how biodive…
Data coordination platform for the Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes (FAANG) project. Validated data brokering of animal agircultural functional genomics data into EMBL public archives, and a dedicated platform to provide added value identiciation, presentation and aquisition of functional dat…
TreeFam (Tree families database) is a database of phylogenetic trees of animal genes. It is a curated resource that aims to provide reliable information about ortholog and paralog assignments, as well as an evolutionary history of various gene families.TreeFam is also an ortholog database. It fits a…
Search of TreeFam’s HMM collection, allows query sequence to be aligned (MAFFT) and inserted into tree (RAxML) to significantly matching models
