Simplification of data release procedures

The European Nucleotide Archive will couple the public release of sequence records and the release of study records that contain these sequence records, with immediate effect. Under the new system, all raw read data and assembled/annotated sequence records associated with studies (PRJEBXXXX; ERPXXXXXX) will be released into the public domain as soon as the release date of the associated study has been reached and the study made public. Submitters are advised to create separate studies for different data types (reads, genome assembly data, transcriptome assembly data) if they wish to release the different data types at different times. Data that can be released together at the same time as the associated study should still be submitted under one and the same study accession. This change is introduced to simplify user and ENA processes at the time of data release.
