Ensembl rolls out new website

The website URL remains www.ensembl.org. 

This updated website offers new scientific opportunities, as genomes and genesets are now available for a diverse array of species from across the tree of life. The work is ongoing, with more features set to be implemented soon, including legacy and new features.

Ensembl’s latest release (2026-07) includes the latest genesets from Ensembl 116 and Ensembl Genomes 63. You can read more about this latest release in the Ensembl blog.

Users can explore the site and the range of data available, and contact the Ensembl team with their needs, especially regarding new data and working with pangenome data.

If there is a feature users need which is not yet available on the new site, the legacy sites remain available via the Ensembl archives, which are anticipated to be available for several years.

Webinars on topics connected with the site changeover, including Educating with Ensembl, the new site, and programmatic access to genome data are available on the EMBL-EBI Training site.

Video demos are also available to help users navigate the new Ensembl data platform on the Ensembl Training YouTube channel.
