ENA/EMG Sample Record Annotation Workshop

EMBL-EBI resources for environmental data, the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) and EBI Metagenomics Portal (EMG), are organising the ENA/EMG Sample Record Annotation Workshop on the 1-5 December 2014.  The main aim of this intensive annotation jamboree is to enrich the environmental sample records with provenance metadata using the ENVO terms and information on the samples found in the literature and available in the public domain on the Web. This shall upgrade a significant proportion of metagenomic/metatranscriptomic samples to the minimum reporting compliance allowing their data analysis within the EMG portal and, ultimately, a better use of the publicly available environmental data.
