Database cross-links

When database records are submitted or curated, references to the literature are frequently added. You can explore these via the ‘Data’ tab, see Figure 5. These article citations from the databases are made visible in Europe PMC – you can click the links to move from the article back to the original database record.

For example, in Figure 5 you can see the data behind the article. For example, there is a Biostudies record that contains supplemental material or supporting data for this article. Additionally, there are different data that cites the article. For example, there are links for diseases in OMIM, Gene Ontology Annotation, Mouse Genome Informatics and five different protein interactions in IntAct records. Other databases that provide cross-links in this way include ENA, InterPro, PDB, UniProt, ChEMBL and ChEBI.
