Help with the Primer design tool
The primer design form contains the following options:
Query - this field allows the user to choose specific loci/alleles to use as template for the primer design, separated by a comma or a carriage return character.
Select the type of sequence to be used - primers can be designed on the coding DNA or on the genomic DNA.
Select maximum primer complexity - primer complexity is given by the combination of all possible ambiguous bases. A complexity value of 1 means no ambiguity.
Select the minimum and maximum primer size - this option provides a range for the algorithm to try and find the optimal primers in the given length range.
Select the minimum and maximum TM value - this option provides a range for the algorithm to try and find the optimal primers in the given TM range.
Predicted product size - this option provides a range for the algorithm to try and find the primer pair producting the optimal PCR product size.
