BioImage Archive: seeing is believing
Trainers: Matthew Hartley and Aybuke Yoldas
Overview: Imaging is becoming increasingly important in the life sciences, including plant genomics. This data is deposited in databases such as BioImage Archive, which is introduced in this presentation through example datasets from plants.
BioImage Archive plays an essential role in enabling FAIR data. You can work through a practical to see how a common format and access mechanism (OME-Zarr) allows us to explore and analyse different plant datasets from public data resources in a consistent way.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this section, you will be able to:
- Describe the main uses of imaging technologies in plant science
- Find and download data from the BioImage Archive
- Work with imaging data in the OME-Zarr format
