Contextualising your results with AlphaFoldDB and 3D-Beacons
Trainer: Jennifer Fleming
Overview: AlphaFold has been a breakthrough in the study of protein structures. This presentation presents both the AlphaFold algorithm and the AlphaFold protein structure database. The types of data included in the database and how to use them are also discussed. In addition, the presentations shows some of the tools and resources provided in the database to expand the information about protein structures. Finally, you will discover the 3D-Beacons network, which provides access to experimentally determined and predicted structure models.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this section you will be able to:
- Describe how AlphaFold works
- Find and access data in AlphaFoldDB
- Describe the different types of data provided in AlphaFoldDB
- Search the 3D-Beacons network
