Roles Classification
Biological Roles:
NF-kappaB inhibitor  An inhibitor of NF-κB (nuclear factor κ-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells), a protein complex involved in the transcription of DNA.
apoptosis inducer  Any substance that induces the process of apoptosis (programmed cell death) in multi-celled organisms.
EC 3.1.1.8 (cholinesterase) inhibitor  An EC 3.1.1.* (carboxylic ester hydrolase) inhibitor that interferes with the action of cholinesterase (EC 3.1.1.8).
EC 5.99.1.2 (DNA topoisomerase) inhibitor  A topoisomerase inhibitor that inhibits the bacterial enzymes of the DNA topoisomerases, Type I class (EC 5.99.1.2) that catalyze ATP-independent breakage of one of the two strands of DNA, passage of the unbroken strand through the break, and rejoining of the broken strand. These bacterial enzymes reduce the topological stress in the DNA structure by relaxing negatively, but not positively, supercoiled DNA.
EC 3.1.1.1 (carboxylesterase) inhibitor  Any EC 3.1.1.* (carboxylic ester hydrolase) inhibitor that inhibits the action of carboxylesterase (EC 3.1.1.1 ).
fungicide  A substance used to destroy fungal pests.
EC 1.2.1.3 [aldehyde dehydrogenase (NAD(+))] inhibitor  An EC 1.2.1.* (oxidoreductase acting on donor aldehyde/oxo group with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor) inhibitor that interferes with the action of aldehyde dehydrogenase (NAD+), EC 1.2.1.3.
ferroptosis inducer  Any substance that induces or promotes ferroptosis (a type of programmed cell death dependent on iron and characterized by the accumulation of lipid peroxides) in organisms.
Applications:
antineoplastic agent  A substance that inhibits or prevents the proliferation of neoplasms.
fungicide  A substance used to destroy fungal pests.
angiogenesis inhibitor  An agent and endogenous substances that antagonize or inhibit the development of new blood vessels.
acaricide  A substance used to destroy pests of the subclass Acari (mites and ticks).
pesticide  Strictly, a substance intended to kill pests. In common usage, any substance used for controlling, preventing, or destroying animal, microbiological or plant pests.
pesticide  Strictly, a substance intended to kill pests. In common usage, any substance used for controlling, preventing, or destroying animal, microbiological or plant pests.
