MIFA Overview

The BioImage Archive has implemented the Metadata, Incentives, Formats, and Accessibility (MIFA) metadata guidelines for the annotation files. MIFA guidelines are a result of a workshop where community experts came together to develop guidelines, in order to improve the reuse of bioimages and annotations for AI applications. MIFA metadata fields are shown in the below figure (taken from MIFA paper).

If you are submitting annotation files (check here), you will need to provide MIFA metadata in the submission process and some as part of the file list as explained here.
