EMBL-EBI is steward to the vast volumes of data deposited into its systems each year. To support this EMBL-EBI has some 300+ Petabytes of raw storage, holding around 25 billion files and objects, across a range of storage types including flash, SSD, disk and tape.

The EMBL-EBI storage sub-team manages the physical storage infrastructure of EMBL-EBI. The team provides highly available, replicated and performant storage across three physical locations, and works closely with service groups and research teams to meet their storage needs and track evolving requirements.
