Release 121 of assembled/annotated sequences from the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA; http://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/) is now available on the EBI public ftp server at ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/ena/sequence/release/ and also at ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/embl/release/ (softlinked to ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/ena/sequence/release/). It contains 469,991,586 sequences comprising 997,958,152,853 nucleotides. You can see the full release notes at: http://bit.ly/LKFtrE.

Please note that there are no individual data files under the root release directory. The data files are in individual directories: 'std', 'con', 'expanded_con' and 'patent'. Lists of suppressed and killed sequences are in the 'deleted' directory. Documents including release notes are available in the 'doc' directory.

Please also note that the old ftp area ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/embl/release/ will be discontinued in release 123 6 months from now.

ENA captures, preserves and presents the world's nucleotide sequence data. New content is included in ENA on a continuous basis and are distributed daily from our browser and RESTful service. The ENA assembled/annotated sequence release provides a quarterly snapshot of content in this important subset of ENA content.
