Joining Slack

  • Please join the course Slack workspace by clicking on the logo below, using your full name you registered with. If you have problems joining please contact Barbara.
  • Create a password which is easy to remember
  • It would be nice for you to add your photo that can be found on your biography so other delegates can recognise you.

Once you are in Slack

Channels

The channels are different chat groups for the course, descriptions of each channel can be found below.  

# course-announcements – This is for important course announcements which only the organisers can post in. Please keep an eye on this channel.

# course-discussion – This is where general chat and questions regarding the course will be.  

# social-chat – Have a social chat with you and the other course delegates. Do you have a super cute pet? The training team love a pet photo feel free to share it!

# technical-support – This is where you can get technical support during the course if you need it  

Direct Messages

Slack is great for getting in contact with other delegates and trainers, you can do this via any of the channels above however if you would prefer to direct message one person or a small group then this is easy.  

  1. In the top left-hand corner of the screen, click on Direct messages

2. Type the name of the participant(s) in the box, you can add one or multiple people.
3. Press enter, this will open up a chat room between you and the other participant(s).
