DefinitionA phlorotannin that consists of biphenyl-2,2',4,4',6-pentol substituted by a 2,4-dihydroxy-6-(2,4,6-trihydroxyphenoxy)phenoxy substituent at position 6'. Isolated from the marine brown alga Ecklonia cava, it exhibits anti-allergic, antioxidant and hypoglycemic activities.
