DefinitionThe hydrochloride of colestipol, a highly cross-linked, high molecular weight copolymer of diethylenetriamine and epichlorohydrin (hydrochloride), with approximately 1 out of 5 amine nitrogens protonated. It is used for binding bile acids in the intestine, inhibiting their reabsorption.
