DefinitionA member of the class phenoxazines that is 3H-phenoxazine substituted by methoxy, oxo, methoxy and hydroxymethyl groups at positions 2, 3, 4 and 8, respectively. It is a red pigment produced by the soil bacterium Streptomyces michiganensis.
