Roles Classification
Chemical Role:
Bronsted base  A molecular entity capable of accepting a hydron from a donor (Brønsted acid).
Biological Roles:
serotonergic antagonist  Drugs that bind to but do not activate serotonin receptors, thereby blocking the actions of serotonin or serotonergic agonists.
dopamine uptake inhibitor  A dopaminergic agent that blocks the transport of dopamine into axon terminals or into storage vesicles within terminals. Most of the adrenergic uptake inhibitors also inhibit dopamine uptake.
Applications:
serotonergic antagonist  Drugs that bind to but do not activate serotonin receptors, thereby blocking the actions of serotonin or serotonergic agonists.
geroprotector  Any compound that supports healthy aging, slows the biological aging process, or extends lifespan.
anxiolytic drug  Anxiolytic drugs are agents that alleviate anxiety, tension, and anxiety disorders, promote sedation, and have a calming effect without affecting clarity of consciousness or neurologic conditions.
second generation antipsychotic  Antipsychotic drugs which can have different modes of action but which tend to be less likely than first generation antipsychotics to cause extrapyramidal motor control disabilities such as body rigidity or Parkinson's disease-type movements.
dopamine uptake inhibitor  A dopaminergic agent that blocks the transport of dopamine into axon terminals or into storage vesicles within terminals. Most of the adrenergic uptake inhibitors also inhibit dopamine uptake.
