Family & Domains
This section describes which family a protein belongs to and also the position and type of each domain present within the protein. Entries contain both a graphical representation and a table giving a structured summary of the information (Figure 33). UniProtKB curators classify proteins by family membership and this information is supplied in a ‘Sequence similarities’ statement. You can find more details on how this is done here. This section also contains links to family and domain databases such as InterPro as well as to phylogenomic resources.
