The Entry View
Entry sections
The sections of a UniProtKB entry and the kinds of data they contain are listed below. Some of these will be described in more detail in the following pages.
| Section | Description |
| Function | Functional information about the protein |
| Names & Taxonomy | Information about the protein and gene name(s) and synonym(s) and about the source organism |
| Subcellular Location | Information on the location of the mature protein in the cell |
| Disease & Variants/ Phenotypes & Variants | In human entries, information on the disease(s) associated with the protein. In non-human entries, information on the phenotype(s) associated with disruption of the gene coding for the protein described in the entry. In all cases, the effects of variant amino acids are described. |
| PTM / Processing | Describes post-translational modifications (PTMs) and/or sequence processing events |
| Expression | Information on the expression of a gene at the mRNA or protein level in cells or in tissues of multicellular organisms |
| Interaction | Information on the quaternary structure of a protein, membership of protein complexes, and on interaction(s) with other proteins or protein complexes |
| Structure | Information on the tertiary structure of a protein. If a full-length experimentally determined structure is not available, an AlphaFold prediction will be shown instead. |
| Family & Domains | Information on sequence similarities to other proteins and the domain(s) present in a protein |
| Sequence & Isoforms | Displays by default the canonical protein sequence and upon request all isoforms described in the entry. Also includes sequence information such as length and molecular weight |
| Similar proteins | Provides links to the UniProt Reference Clusters (UniRef) |
