Programmatic access (API)

The Application Programming Interface (API) enables flexible and scalable access to the database, making it ideal for integrating data from the AFDB into other applications and workflows. With the API, you can download atomic coordinates, confidence metrics, and obtain metadata. Using the API requires some programming knowledge.

You should carefully read the API documentation and understand the different field parameters available.

API Endpoints. The interactive API documentation provides detailed information on how to programmatically access metadata and model files for all predictions.

We’ve developed a Google Colab notebook that provides guidance on accessing the AlphaFold Protein Structure Database through its API.
