The InterPro website is accessible through the following url: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/interpro/

You will land on the InterPro home page (see the figure below) which provides:

• search tools
• links to documentation, such as release notes, recent publications and blog posts
• access to data organised by member databases signatures, InterPro entry types or taxonomy
• access to the latest InterPro entries, favourite InterPro entries, recent text searches
• links to tools for visualisation, complex data queries, etc

Exploring InterPro

In this tutorial you will be guided to search the InterPro website using two features:

• Search by sequence
• Search by text

In the search sequence you will learn how to analyse the results obtained by running the InterProScan software on an unknown protein sequence, identifying the protein family membership and predicted domains. You will carry on exploring an InterPro entry page of the InterPro website.

In the second part you will search a protein structure and look at a Structure entry page.
