A guide to molecular interactions

Overview: This session includes a lecture on molecular interactions and a practical session using IntAct, IMEx and PSICQUIC tools to search for molecular interactions. Students will learn how to construct protein-protein interaction networks and subsequently use these to overlay large-scale data such as that obtained through RNA-Seq or mass-spec proteomics.

By the end of this session you will be able to:

• Describe the concepts of protein-protein interaction and networks
• Search the IntAct website for protein-protein interactions
• Search protein-protein data integration using PSICQUIC & IMEx
