LC/GC-MS: Data acquisition and Data processing (MS1 and MSn)
Trainer: Marynka Ulaszewska
Overview: The session LC-MS: data acquisition (MS1 and MSn) will cover the principles of targeted and untargeted metabolomics assays as well as mass spectrometry technologies that are employed in laboratory experiments. It will provide you with best practices and tips for data acquisition modes (MS1, MS2, MSn and Ion Trees) for study samples and spectral libraries.
The session dedicated to data processing will cover different types of data pre-processing and healthy checks. We will discuss troubleshooting examples such as batch effect removal, data drift/shifts and how to use your QC samples. It will cover the theory and reasons behind pre-processing steps including alignment, peak picking, retention time correction, etc.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this lecture you will be able to:
- Describe data acquisition and processing for metabolite identification
- Identify best tips for data acquisition modes
