Overview

This workshop will provide training covering submission and retrieval services provided by the EBI's European Nucleotide Archive (ENA; //www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/) for raw and early analysis data from next generation nucleotide sequencing platforms. In addition, we will cover emerging technology for the efficient compression of these data. Students can expect to become familiar with submission and retrieval formats for both metadata and data, submission pipelines and data retrieval using browser and webservices methods, and the use of compressed formats in data processing and analysis. This workshop is supported by the European Sequencing and Genotyping Infrastructure project funded under the FP7 programme of the European Commission (ESGI; http://www.esgi-infrastructure.eu/).
