Overview
Is it right for me?
The format of the workshop this year is different to previous years: People new to DAS will likely want to attend the first day only, and the 2nd and 3rd days will be for DAS developers who wish to update their clients to use the latest verions of DAS, or update their server implementations, or work on new applications of DAS.
It is expected that anyone who attends any of the days of the workshop, will know at least one of the following programming languages - PERL, Java or Javascript.
What will I learn?
- what you can do with DAS
- how to talk to a DAS server
- how to set up your own servers
What will it cover?
- The first day is a practical day where you can learn how to work with DAS
- What DAS commands look like
- How to request via Perl/Java
- How to set up a DAS server
- How to get a list from available servers from the DAS registry
- The second and third days this year will be a hackathon, and is for DAS client developers to collaborate on projects and code related to DAS
