Logos and brandingThe new PDBe logoLaunched in 2013 the new PDBe logo perfectly reflects our mission to “Bring Structure to Biology” and symbolises our ultimate ambition to transform the PDB from a historic archive into a truly useful resource for biomedicine and related disciplines. Based on a motif that is found at all levels of structure, we hope the logo will quickly become synonymous with the provision of high‐quality information about 3D molecular and cellular structure. The fourfold symmetry of the logo evokes associations with 3D structure at a variety of scales, from electrons (the symmetry of certain d‐orbitals), to atoms (for instance, coordination around a metal ion), to molecular complexes and assemblies (for instance, tetramers of voltage-gated ion channels), and finally to clusters of dividing cells. Guidelines for useWe recommend using the PDBe logo when providing links to search results, PDBe structure pages for PDB and EMDB entries or access to datasets. The PDBe logo should preferably be set against a white background. The PDBe letterhead should be used when acknowledging PDBe as an organisation. The PDBe letterhead should preferably be set against a white background. Against a coloured background, the text in the logo should appear in white typeface. Downloads
