                "text": "<p>Ribosomal protein L6 is one of the proteins from the large ribosomal subunit.\nIn Escherichia coli, L6 is known to bind directly to the 23S rRNA and is\nlocated at the aminoacyl-tRNA binding site of the peptidyltransferase center.\nIt belongs to a family of ribosomal proteins which, on the basis of sequence\nsimilarities [[cite:PUB00001794]][[cite:PUB00001046]][[cite:PUB00001241]], groups:\n\n - Eubacterial L6.\n - Algal chloroplast L6.\n - Cyanelle L6.\n - Archaebacterial L6.\n - Marchantia polymorpha mitochondrial L6.\n - Yeast mitochondrial YmL6 (gene MRPL6).\n - Mammalian L9.\n - Drosophila L9.\n - Plants L9.\n - Yeast L9 (YL11).\n\nWhile all the above proteins are evolutionary related it is very difficult to\nderive a pattern that will find them all. We therefore decided to create two\npatterns, the first to detect eubacterial, cyanelle and mitochondrial L6, the\nsecond to detect archaebacterial L6 as well as eukaryotic L9.</p>",
