Description | This experiment investigates the transcriptional effect of age in the N2 strain of Caenorhabditis elegans during the L4 stage. The goal is to identify genes that show dynamic gene-expression patterns over time. We grew N2 populations over the course of 44 to 58 hours at 20 degrees Celsius, independent populations were harvested in hourly intervals. Thereafter RNA was isolated, labelled and hybridized on microarray. The gene expression profiles were analyzed for dynamic expression patterns using principal component analysis and k-means clustering.
Experiment types | transcription profiling by array, time series design
