This is quite a complex panel with impressive representations of pathways and several useful features to investigate them. Let’s explore this step-by-step.

Interface style

The interface of the diagram panel is similar to that of Google maps. Owing to the variety and complexity of data in Reactome, this panel provides small pieces of information at a time. You can zoom in to know more about the pathway, reaction or molecule of interest. With a simple mouse scroll (zoom) you can go from a pathway overview to the structural information of a participating protein. An example of this progression is shown in Figure 19.

Pathway diagrams

Reactome provides reaction and pathway information as several useful figures at various scales of resolution. Table 1 describes the four visual styles of pathways in Reactome.
