Mass spectrometry-based proteomics

Mass spectrometry-based proteomics has revolutionised the analysis of proteins by enabling quantitative analysis of thousands of proteins and their properties, including post-translational modification (PTM). The resulting datasets are rich, multidimensional, and comprehensive.

This webinar with Tony Ly (Sir Henry Dale Fellow, University of Dundee), recorded on 16 March 2022, provides basics of peptide and PTM identification by mass spectrometry, strategies for quantitation, and introduce tools for the analysis of proteomic datasets.

By the end of the webinar recording you will be able to:

  • Describe the basics of peptide identification by mass spectrometry
  • Explain the principles of protein/PTM quantitation, e.g. isobaric labels (TMT), DDA, DIA
  • Identify the tools available for PTM and sequence logo analysis
