How to upload your own data for comparison

It is also possible to use the web viewer to compare a proteome of interest (including a novel user-created proteome) against the representative set provided. The first step is to use InterProScan to analyse the new proteome, either via a local install or though a web service access to InterProScan. The resulting TSV file can then be directly uploaded to the Genome Properties viewer (Figure 6).

Figure 6 User-defined proteomes can be uploaded to the Genome Properties viewer for comparison with the representative set provided. The set of FASTA sequences (A) representing the novel proteome must be analysed using InterProScan. The resulting TSV file is then uploaded using the browse button (B) at the top left of the viewer page. The Genome Properties results for the uploaded proteome are displayed in the viewer, with the label highlighted in red (C).
