Genome Properties viewer

The Genome Properties results are calculated for a small set of representative proteomes with every release. This set covers a range of species, including the major model organisms. The pre-calculated results for each of these proteomes can be viewed in the context of a taxonomic tree in the web-based viewer (Figure 5).

Each row in the table represents a Genome Property, and each column represents a species. The taxonomic tree can be navigated by clicking on the nodes. Double clicking a node will load the Genome Properties data for all species contained within that node.

There are various options for searching and filtering the Genome Properties data. There are also various labeling options to assist with visualisation. Each Genome Property is reported as either yes (dark blue), partial (light blue) or no (grey) for each species. The pie-charts at the end of each row and column show a summary of the data for that row/column. Comparing the pattern of Genome Properties results between species in this manner, allows for phylogenetic profiling.
