Genome Properties entry page
Genome Properties entries generally have the same overall format as shown below (Figure 3). At the top of each entry page are fields like Accession, Name, Description, and References, relating to the property as a whole.
Below this is a table of steps, where each step has a set of associated fields including Step name, Optional flag, InterPro ID, Protein signature model (evidence), and GO terms. Each step has one or more protein signature models that are used to determine its presence within the query species.
The optional flag specifies whether a step is required for the functioning of the property or is optional. Only required steps are included in the threshold counts. Gene ontology (GO) terms are assigned to individual steps within properties. The GO annotations can be assigned to the query species only when the property as a whole resolves to a YES or PARTIAL, and the individual step evidence has been matched.
Those entries that differ from this format are of type CATEGORY, as these represent organisational entries, rather than traditional genome properties. The CATEGORY entries are used to group together properties into a hierarchy, allowing users to browse a tree of properties.
