Collection
Genetic variation
A curated collection of EMBL-EBI online courses
Genetic variation is the difference in DNA sequences between individuals within a population. This collection of online tutorials, videos and materials covers a variety of topics, EMBL-EBI data resources and tools related to genetic variation.
Who is this course for?
This collection is for anyone who would like to learn more about genetic variation and the associated EMBL-EBI data resources and tools. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.
What will I achieve?
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Explain what genetic variation is
- List EMBL-EBI resources useful for the study of genetic variation
- Describe the data made available through the European Variation Archive
- Recall the role of Ensembl and the Ensembl Variant Effect Predictor
- Use UniProt to investigate variation
- Investigate genotype-phenotype data using the GWAS Catalog
- Know where to find out more about EMBL-EBI data resources
What resources do I need?
There are no specific resources required to complete this course.
