Who is this course for?
This collection is suitable for anyone interested in microbial ecology and eager to learn more about the applications of metagenomics in modern microbial studies. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.
What will I achieve?
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Appreciate the ecological importance of microbial communities in maintaining the health and balance of ecosystems
- Discuss the approaches used in studying microbiomes in diverse habitats
- Identify publicly available metagenomic and genomic databases, along with relevant analysis tools
