Data management plans
To ensure effective data management, a plan should be made in advance of data collection and analysis. When planning your data management there are some key points to consider:
- How will you collect the data?
- How will you document what you do?
- What analysis methods will you use?
- How will you store the data?
- How will you back up the documentation?
- Who will you share the data with and how will you share it?
- What does your funder require you to do?
Fortunately, there are tools available online to help guide you through the process of creating a data management plan, such as DMPonline and the Data stewardship wizard.
