MIFA Metadata
The BioImage Archive has implemented the Metadata, Incentives, Formats, and Accessibility (MIFA) metadata guidelines for the annotation files (Figure 16). MIFA guidelines are a result of a workshop where community experts came together to develop guidelines, in order to improve the reuse of bioimages and annotations for AI applications.
If you are submitting annotation files (check here for types of annotation files), you will need to provide MIFA metadata in the submission process and some as part of the file list as explained in the next sections.
