Using ontologies: IMPC
The International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC) records data for many different test parameters in their comparison of genetic mutant animals against observations of wildtype controls. To relate these parameters to phenotypes, terms from the Mammalian Phenotype Ontology are used.
In this video, Violeta Munoz Fuentes, Biologist at EMBL-EBI, discusses how the IMPC uses the Mammalian Phenotype Ontology to annotate the data they collate.
