Open Targets: Mining gene and disease associations for improved drug target identification

In this webinar we introduce the Open Targets Consortium, its projects and focus on its Platform for drug target identification and selection. Denise Carvalho-Silva demonstrates how to browse the Open Targets Platform to visualise and interpret gene and disease associations. You will also find out how to obtain information at the gene, protein and disease levels. The Open Targets Platform is free and available to all. You will be encouraged to email us after this webinar when you start using the Platform to answer the questions in your own research.

This webinar was recorded on 18th October 2017. It is best viewed in full screen mode using Google Chrome. The slides from this webinar can be downloaded below.

See the EMBL-EBI training pages for a list of upcoming webinars.

This webinar is aimed at scientists with an interest in learning more about the Open Targets platform and how it can be applied to inform your research.

No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but an undergraduate level understanding of biology would be useful.
