GWAS Catalog: Exploring SNP-trait associations

The NHGRI-EBI GWAS Catalog is a publically available resource of Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and their results. This course provides an introduction of how to browse SNP-trait associations using the NHGRI-EBI GWAS Catalog.

Undergraduate-level understanding of biology would be an advantage. If you are new to the field of genetic variation then we recommend that you start with our course Human genetic variation (I): an introduction to familiarise yourself with some of the key concepts and terms used in the field.

***Please note: In October 2018 the GWAS Catalog made several changes to improve and extend data accessibility. This includes a redesigned query interface, a new RESTful API and integrated access to summary statistics. Watch this video to take a tour of the new search interface or visit the GWAS catalog website for detailed documentation. This course will be updated in the near future. ***
