You can join using the link and password below. You will need a desktop\/laptop to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/app.gather.town\/app\/CmwaZN0G0d36RC03\/Single-cell%202025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Join Gather (only available during specific networking session)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Password<\/strong>: <strong>SingCell<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t used Gather before, this <a href=\"https:\/\/support.gather.town\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/28117126107668-Looking-Moving-Around-the-Office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brief guide<\/a> provides some tips for moving around the space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you join Gather:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please ensure your display name is the full name you registered with<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please close any other apps using your camera and microphone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are having trouble connecting, check this troubleshooting guide and\/or use the Slack channel&nbsp;<strong>#technical-support<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Once you are in Gather<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There is one room in the Gather Town &#8211; this is where you will appear when you first enter the space, and where the posters can be found.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EMBL-EBI staff will be on hand to help near the podium in the centre of the room, or can be contacted via the #<strong>technical-support <\/strong>channel in Slack.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gather is a video chat platform that has avatars move around a map. As you get close to other avatars, your videos will pop up and you will be able to chat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Move around the space using the arrow keys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By moving your avatar around you can have spontaneous conversations with those around you. This allows conversations to only include people inside that space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Want to full screen someone else\u2019s video? Just click on their video.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talking to a group of people? Click the down arrows below the videos to shift into grid view. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips and tricks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gather requires a desktop\/laptop and works best on Chrome or Firefox.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We recommend using headphones if you can, to help prevent feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are connecting via a VPN, you may need to switch this off in order to join Gather.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your avatar, sound, or video freezes, refreshing your browser is often a quick way to fix this problem.
