Terminal, Snakemake, pyTorch – Practical

This session was a part of the 2023 iteration of this course.

Overview:  The practical starts with some basic fundamentals of computing operating systems and the command line interface, called ‘terminal’, which allows us to interact with such systems. You can execute some basic commands, some commands which are helpful for science and will finish with exercise.

Learning outcomes:

After this session you should be able to:

• Recognise the importance of the Linux-based Command Line interface in scientific computing and bioimage analysis
• Apply basic commands on frequently used scientific computing processes
• Identify basic tools for building a Machine Learning Environment
• Build a basic Machine Learning Environment
