Introduction to EMPIAR

This session was a part of the 2023 iteration of this course.

Overview: EMPIAR, the Electron Microscopy Public Image Archive, is a public resource for raw electron microscopy images. Here, you can browse, upload and download the raw images used to build a 3D structure.

Learning outcomes:

After this session you should be able to:

Identify the EMPIAR Archive as a valuable resource for raw electron microscopy images (and many other type of bioimages) and the importance of this open access plataform.
Describe the process of browsing, uploading and downloading raw images in the platform.
