Bioimaging data resources at EMBL-EBI

This section will introduce you to three bioimage resources hosted by EMBL-EBI:

The BioImage Archive (BIA) stores and distributes biological images that are useful to life sciences researchers.

The BioStudies database holds descriptions of biological studies, links to data from these studies in other databases at EMBL-EBI or outside, as well as data that do not fit in the structured archives at EMBL-EBI or anywhere else.

The Electron Microscopy Public Image Archive, is a public resource for raw images underpinning 3D cryo-EM maps and tomograms (themselves archived in EMDB). EMPIAR also accommodates 3D datasets obtained with volume EM techniques and soft and hard X-ray tomography. All data archived in EMPIAR can be re-used freely without any conditions or restrictions (“CC0” license model).
