Spectrum exercise – strengths and limitations

Overview: Using a Google Slides-based game adapted from a popular YouTube series, the course participants identified the strengths and limitations of their core facilities and participated in a group discussion about potential solutions to common challenges faced by many core facilities.

Please be aware that this exercise was a group activity. We would encourage you to run them with your core facility’s team using the templates provided.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this session you will be able to:

• Explain your team’s views of your core facility
• Identify strengths and limitations of your core facility

Activity instructions

1. Download the below provided slidedeck, place it on a shared environment and have everyone in your team access to it (with editing rights)
2. For each question, place your name on the spectrum of answer options – from strongly agree to strongly disagree
3. Be prepared to talk about your experience – the good, the bad, and the ugly!
