Introduction to network propagation
Trainer: Thodoris Koutsandreas
This presentation is separated into two parts. The first one includes the presentation of the theoretical background of network propagation and how it could be used to investigate different scenarios in biological networks, such as the significance of proteins on a PPI network or the effect of a receptor perturbation. In the second part, the workflow of a network propagation-based tool for the reconstruction of interacting pathways based on phosphoproteomic and transcriptomic data (phuEGO) will be presented.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the session you will be able to:
- Describe the mathematical background of network propagation
- Identify applications of network propagation in biology
- Summarise the steps in phuEGO to reconstruct active signalling pathways
